R.I.P Wicky Mosh a.k.a. Wycliffe Omondi

Mosh, 25, whose real name is Wycliffe Omondi, died at about 10.30am Kenya time, as annonced by his father Jacob Wambayi Tamre told the Nation. The musician had been on a life-support system and had a head scan.Doctors were scheduled to carry out more tests on the injuries he suffered when he was hit by a bus on the Nairobi-Thika road. His left leg had been amputated.

The singer and composer of the Atoti hit single fame, was returning home from the Chaguo La Teeniz awards ceremony at the Carnivore in Nairobi when he was hit by a bus near the Roysambu roundabout on Thika Road. According to his mother, Mrs Roselyn Wambaya, the bus driver fled soon after the accident and good Samaritans rushed him to hospital. Besides Atoti , in which he featured with fellow rapper Maji Maji, Mosh has released Winyo Nungo, which has been receiving good airplay. It is also popular in clubs.

The musician's body will be removed from the mortuary on May 1 for an overnight stay at his parents' house in Mathare North Area 2. He will be buried on May 3 at his rural home in Sigoma, Siaya District. Meanwhile, artistes and producers meet this morning for funeral arrangements at the Kenya National Theatre.

Musician Mighty King Kong, who is the co-ordinator of the meeting, said he had invited musicians, producers and well wishers to help meet costs for the musician's burial. "This is the first in a series of meetings we will hold as we prepare to bury our fallen colleague," he said.
